Our brothers and sisters in India are under attack!
They are facing direct, intentionally intimidating persecution. Across America, we are getting ready for Christmas and a season of peace. The reality is that our team members aren’t currently experiencing that same blessing.
In late November, on a Sunday night, a RunGlobal team house was raided by the RSS. A group of extreme Hindu nationalists unjustly arrested the team leader and ransacked the building. This brother along with some other Christians who were present, were slapped, threatened with a gun, subjected to questioning, and forced to endure an onslaught of accusations.
Fortunately, not everyone from the team there at the time of the invasion. Upon hearing
the news, the rest of the team members scattered to find refuge. At the time of this writing the team leader has been released and the team is determined to continue.
They took one day to regroup, process what had happened and pray over how to proceed. They have already begun scoping out new locations for their team so they can get back to their Kingdom work! One day after being terrorized and victimized for proclaiming their faith, they are focused on reaching the next region! They fled from one town to immediately figure out which one is next. Matthew 10:23a (NLT) literally says, “when you are persecuted in one town flee to the next.” This is right out of the Gospels!
When Jesus sent out the twelve disciples in Mark 6 (NIV), He instructed them that “if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, leave that place and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.” This is exactly what our team is doing.
These are the people RunGlobal chooses to support. These are the warriors of the faith who won’t even allow physical attacks to divert them from the mission. They are BOLD. They are dependent on the Lord as their source of peace amid uncertainty. They are prepared to share the Gospel even when it costs them in this life.
Will you join our team in prayer over this rapidly evolving situation? Pray with us:
- That our team members will be filled with peace, joy, and rest. God promises in 1
- Thessalonians 1:7 (NLT) “God will provide rest for you who are being persecuted,”
- For our team members to be encouraged by the support they receive from their brothers and sisters here in the States.
- That the Lord would guide us in wisely choosing the new team location.
- That God would use this for His glory and to save many!
This persecution is not a surprise. In John 15:20 (NLT), Jesus guarantees the
persecution of His followers. “Since they persecuted me, naturally they will persecute
you.” Our prayer is that our team members will be able to continue to run the race with
endurance regardless of the obstacles the enemy is trying to put in their way!
