Basurero

Basurero

Last week our family accompanied a local pastor across the Mexican border to evangelize and to encourage the believers in a local church.

We picked up the local pastor and headed to the basurero. The basurero is the garbage dump in San Luis Rio de Colorado, Sonora, Mexico. We went to evangelize and to get a picture of what it is like. Many people work in the dump, they pick through garbage looking for anything they can sell. Some people are picking up plastic bottles, others are looking for metal. Really, anything that they can sell, they will.

We met one young girl, 15 years old, that hasn’t been to school in a couple of years. She has dreams of becoming a doctor, but that is tough to do if you aren’t in school.

We plan on working with the local pastor and see if we can help support those kids and get them into school.
