Thanksgiving in Nepal

Thanksgiving in Nepal

Thanksgiving Nepal Improvisation

One advantage about being in Nepal is that I am 11 hours and 45 minutes ahead of US Central Time.  So, we ate our Thanksgiving Dinner about 5 hours ago (5:00 PM local time), which was 5:15 AM Central.  As I write this, your turkey has been in the oven for a few hours and you are getting ready for guests to arrive OR to head across town.  Such fond memories I have of Thanksgiving past.  Our Thanksgiving day was a little different, but quite joyful.  We had a lovely meal of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, cooked carrots, squash, green beans, avocado, with grapes and cooked apples for dessert.  Thank you Su for speaking my love language with plenty of mashed potatoes.

No turkey for us for two reasons:
1.  They have chicken shops, goat shops, pig shops, but no turkey shops.  2.  They don’t have ovens in Nepali homes.
