Where Did You Get This Guy?

Where Did You Get This Guy?

If someone invites us to an event or asks us to do something, we always take it into consideration. We don’t always know all the details, but we feel that if God opens a door, then we should walk through it!

Recently, Juan, a friend from church, asked if I could help out at a business event that was coming up. Juan works in the freight business and the event was going to have approx. 500 people attend. The event was hosted at a California Highway Patrol (CHP) inspection station next to the Mexican border.

The purpose of the event was for members of the trucking industry to raise more awareness for drug and human trafficking. Juan asked if I could bring some Bibles and work a table. So I did just that!

Juan’s contact at the CHP didn’t get back to him with permission to have Bibles, but we just went anyway. I was able to pray for several people, hand out many Bibles and have conversations about God.

Here I am talking to someone at my table where I have Bibles.

I heard afterwards that the commander of the CHP station asked Juan, “Where did you find this guy?, he’s over there praying for people!” The commander thought it was great and was encouraged by my presence. It was the commander that would have had to give his overall approval for us to be there and he was pleased.

I look forward to having more conversations and opportunities next year!
