Travel Update – November 2020
Directing Our Paths
Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT – Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Thank you for your prayers for us. We have traveled many more miles since we last wrote. God has been faithful in showing us who he wants us to talk to. It has been very encouraging to see God’s plans unfold in front of us. When we travel to a new city, sometimes we have friends/connections and sometimes we don’t. I spend alot of time researching churches in a particular area and emailing them our info. I inform them of who we are, what God has done through us and what God is doing with RUN Global in South Asia. We a message of Christ’s sacrificial love through our living and our giving. We trust that God will open doors that he wants opened and close doors that he wants closed.
We have currently visited 22 churches since we have been back. Since we don’t know when things will open up for us in South Asia, we plan on visiting many more!
It has been really great to meet new people and make some new friends. Like I said, God has been faithful!
Why meet? There are many facets to the answer.
1. We have a heart for the nations and for our brothers and sisters in other parts of the world that are suffering for their faith and for lack of food from COVID.
2. We have a heart for the church in America to encourage them to read the Word of God and truly follow him.
3. The third reason is for mutual encouragement of mission-minded individuals. I enjoy meeting new people and making new friends.
4. Inform you of the expanding work that God is doing in Nepal & India.
5. Lastly, when we arrived back in the U.S. we weren’t sure what we were going to do. God impressed upon our hearts to tour the U.S. to encourage anyone to the call of truly following Christ in his sacrificial living and sacrificial giving. And that is what we have been doing. We have been on the road since memorial day visiting many states and many churches/pastors while we wait to go back to South Asia.
I also include a newsletter with all of our information. This will give them a great picture of us and what we are about. Click here if you would like to see it!
Please pray that God will continue to open doors with churches, Bible studies, small groups, etc. so we can share his message!
Blessings to you!
The Miles Keep Adding Up!
We have been putting on a lot of miles for our van and camper. We bought our van in June of 2019 and have put about 20,000 miles on. You may say that it isn’t too bad in for 17 months, but this includes the six months the van sat in storage while we were overseas. Over that time we have needed to do some repairs/upgrades. In July I upgraded the alternator so we could have plenty of power to cook with an Instant Pot while driving. Yes, we really do that. Some of the other repairs include a new battery, new radiator, and water pump. The most recent fix was the starter that decided it was finished last week. This repair needed to happen with my limited tools, while parked in Walmart parking lot and the closest part store was 2.3 miles away. Needless to say it was a nice 50 minute walk with my son, each way to get the part. I am glad it worked!
