November Updates on Evangelism
What have we been up to?
In the past few months we have started working some new fields. We will go wherever we can find people to talk to. Wherever there is a crowd…. let’s go!
YOUTH GROUPS: Our kids have been attending several different youth groups and young adult groups around Yuma. They have been motivating their peers to take a step of faith an grow in evangelism.
CROSSROADS MISSION: Crossroads Mission is a Christian based drug and alcohol treatment center. They have a half hour chapel service every night of the week. The center invites people to come share at the service. I got connected through a local pastor and have had the opportunity to share 3-4 times in the last couple of months.
DOOR to DOOR EVANGELISM: When we are going door to door we approach with prayer first. In other words we knock on the door and tell them we are Christians in the neighborhood praying for people. Whether they want prayer or not, we ask further questions to ask them about their faith. This has been
GATEWAY PARK on the Colorado River: In the summertime this is a popular place to gather for people looking to beat the heat. We have taken the opportunity to engage in conversations with people. The river is different than door-to-door evangelism. We start out by asking if someone would like a Bible. We then ask further questions and get into the gospel.
PRAYER AND EVANGELISM BEFORE SCHOOL: We had met a lady at a church that mentioned she had had it on her heart to pray for the families that are dropping their kids off at school. The church building has a large gravel lot on the corner near two elementary schools. We have joined her a couple of times and had some great opportunities.
H.S. FOOTBALL GAMES: We have attended three High School games this fall. We will meet people in the parking lot and offer Bibles and prayer. Some games are better than others. Some schools are better than others. There are five High Schools in Yuma and each field has a different layout and different challenges.
COUNTY FAIR: Yuma County has a fall fest which is just another county fair in the fall. Amusement rides, food trucks, the works! The normal Yuma County fair is in April before it gets too hot! We met people in the parking lot with Bibles to give away and to offer prayer.
